Title : PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FOREIGN STUDENTS IN THE DIGITAL ERA WITH THE FOCUS ON DIFFERENCES IN CULTURAL AND ACADEMIC CONVENTIONS
Abstract :

The purpose of the study is to develop approaches to creating a model of a digital platform that takes into account the specifics of the foreign contingent of a Russian university and provides training for foreign citizens to master educational programs in Russian. The article used a wide range of research methods, including: 1) analysis of scientific and scientific-methodological literature on the research problem, especially in terms of consolidating resources for preparing foreign applicants; 2) analysis of the possibilities of existing Internet resources adapted for preparing foreigners for learning in new conditions; 3) analysis of existing programs for preparing students to master educational programs in a foreign language; 4) analysis of existing programs for socio-cultural adaptation of foreigners; 5) analysis of global statistics data related to the researched problem; 6) analysis of empirical data (results of surveys of foreign students and interviews with teachers preparing foreign citizens at the pre-university stage). An integrative model of a digital educational resource (working title "Digital Class") has been proposed, providing training for foreign citizens to study in Russia. Within the model, components of resource support for preparing foreign citizens for studying in a Russian university have been identified, principles of content formation and methodological support for courses have been determined, and conditions for implementing the model of a digital preparatory faculty in a university have been defined. The model innovatively involves a multi-vector, "multiplex" structure and multi-level content. The "Digital Class" should become an open platform for learning and communication, the basis for forming a student's communicative competence in the professional sphere. The inter-university nature of the educational resource allows a significant expansion of its educational potential in the future and makes it a serious tool for preparing foreign citizens.
