Comparative Review of Qualitative Research: Mentoring International Graduate Students
Journal ID : ALS-09-07-2022-5633; Total View : 598; Author : Nari Choi,
Abstract : The number of international graduate students who study in the United States has been growing up and these students deal with some challenges not only from different language but also from new cultures and educational systems. Even though domestic students might manage academic and cultural problems as well as social adjustment to some degree, international graduate students’ challenges is greater than that of domestic students. In order to support international graduate students and help them adjust to different educational systems and cultures, examining their mentoring approach and addressing their experiences are crucial. This paper demonstrates a comparative review of two qualitative articles about mentoring international graduate students. Both studies examined international graduate students’ experience and their response after participating in mentoring by faculty. International graduate students deal with more language difficulties, social and cultural adjustment, and different education systems than domestic students do. By better understanding international graduate students’ experience and their challenges, faculty and professors can better support and lead them in successful academic career.

Insecticidal effects of the spontaneous plant Urtica dioica L. (Urticaceae) on the mortality and behavior of Drosophila melanogaster (Diptera: Drosophilidae)
Journal ID : ALS-20-06-2022-5632; Total View : 686; Author : BOUZAR Abir, SAMAI Ibtissem, HABBACHI Sarra, RAHAT Makarem, BOUBLATA Nour El Imene, SAADANE Fatma Zohra, HABBACHI Wafa, TAHRAOUI Abdelkrim,
Abstract : The plant world is an excellent source of bioactive molecules such as alkaloids, polyphenols, triterpenes, which gives it an important bioinsectiside activity. In order to know the biological activities of medicinal plants traditionally used by the population, our work focused on the study of the crude extracts of the leaves of Urtica dioica L. (Urticaceae) on the mortality and feeding behavior in the larvae of Drosophila melnogatser and the sexual and reproductive behavior in the adults of the fly, using aqueous extracts of this plant. The treatment is done by ingestion on 2nd instar larvae (L2). The results show that mortality rates can reach 50% after 15 days of treatment, we also recorded that the aqueous extract of U. dioica L. does not attract the larvae (control and treated) of D. melanogatser as it disturbs their olfactory system or the majority of the tested larvae present random choices. The aqueous extract of U. dioica L. suppressed and blocked mating sequences in treated and control male-female pairs. U. dioica L. also reduces reproductive capacity in treated females and does not attract females (control and treated) to lay eggs (repellent effect), confirming that the bioactive molecules present in the aqueous extract of U. dioica L. are repellent allelochemicals.

Impacts of industrial discharges from FERTIAL on the water quality of Oued Seybouse (North East Algeria)
Journal ID : ALS-15-06-2022-5631; Total View : 564; Author : Samai Ibtissem, Amri Naziha, Anguel Ibtissem, Meghlaoui Zoubeida, Zentar Amina,
Abstract : Aquatic environments present very varied vulnerabilities depending on the uses and hydrodynamic conditions. The contribution of effluents to the aquatic environment can profoundly modify the physicochemical composition of the receiving environment. These modifications are strongly linked to the hydrological regime of rivers. In order to limit the load and the concentrations of contaminants in the receiving medium, several methods have been developed. It is in this context that the present study falls, which concerns industrial discharges (FERTIAL-Annaba) in a natural receiving environment (Oued Seybouse, North East Algeria). The results of the physico-chemical analyzes carried out concern the main components of the pollution (T°, pH, EC, BOD5, NO-3, NO-2, NH+4, MES, OD and Cl-), show that surface of Oued Seybouse have chlorinated chemical properties and basic sprout. The BOD5 which reflects the biodegradability of the organic matter existing in this wadi, it is mainly local in most of the points analyzed. The other results obtained present concentrations which exceed the national standards of discharge. So we see that the waters of Oued Seybouse are very polluted and this pollution has several origins such as: industrial, chemical and also agro-food.

A Study on Korea’s Agricultural comprehensive gift Tax
Journal ID : ALS-11-01-2022-5626; Total View : 942; Author : Shinnam Lee,
Abstract : As new agricultural gift tax cases rise due to Korea's rapidly changing economic environment, disputes between taxpayers and tax authorities continue. The introduction of the new agricultural agricultural comprehensive gift taxation system has generated substantial controversy over the calculation of the market prices and the taxation requirements in cases where gift taxes are levied without considering the transaction prices as market prices. Disputes regarding gift taxes are expected to continue in the future. Therefore, this study attempts to devise a plan to operate the agricultural comprehensive gift taxation system. To this end, it analyses taxation cases observed after implementing the new system and proposes various improvement measures. The study’s results suggest that it is necessary to boost taxpayers’ trust in the tax administration and minimize disputes by clarifying gift tax taxable components and gift property value calculations.

Evaluation of the neurochemical imbalance on post-stroke recovery in 20 patients admitted to the Specialized Hospital of eastern Algeria
Journal ID : ALS-02-01-2022-5625; Total View : 2327; Author : fella chebbah, Amina Djouini, Anis Amroussi, Amira Bakeche, Meriem Haloui, Abdelmadjid Bairi,
Abstract : Stroke is more often disabling than fatal, Stroke survivors have a high risk of recurrence; hence, the interest in looking at the therapeutic aspects, which are essentially based on multidisciplinary management allowing motor and cognitive rehabilitation. However, the search for, but also the stimulation of a neurochemical deficient factor represents an essential approach for a better recovery. Therefore, our investigation has focused on a sample of 20 hemiplegic patients with multiple cognitive deficits admitted to the ANNABA Specialized Hospital, which has allowed us to obtain interesting data on the existence of deficits in serotonergic, dopaminergic, gabaergic and cholinergic neurotransmission through a non-invasive test established by Dr. Braverman was used as a support to which the pre-selected patients agreed to respond. From these results, a moderate serotonin deficiency was found. This deficiency is mainly present in women and has an impact on the patients’ mental state as well as on the cognitive and on the motor recovery.
